Headquartered at the Department of History at Armstrong Atlantic State University, the Savannah Images Project centers around the collaborative development of an instructional model that uses active learning, collaboration between university and public school faculty, readily available instructional technology, and the coastal region's abundant cultural and community resources. The project encourages teachers and students to investigate coastal Georgia's cultural landscape, while teaching them how to produce data bases of historical images and documents for the Internet. Data bases in this Web site were produced for the most part by students and teachers. Examples include:
