- Dobbins Air Reserve Base
Supports training of reservists from all four branches of the military; some 10,000 reservists are assigned to the facility,
which is located in Marietta.
- Fort Benning
Home of the U.S. Army Infantry School, airborne and Ranger schools; the base was founded in 1918 and is located near Columbus.
- Fort Gillem
Headquarters of the First U.S. Army and the Georgia Army National Guard, Fort Gillem is also a major
supply depot and distribution center; a satellite facility of Fort McPherson, located near Atlanta.
- Fort Gordon
Fort Gordon is home to the U.S. Army Signal Center, which is responsible for the training of all
signal regiments; located near Augusta.
- Fort McPherson
As U.S. Army Forces Command headquarters, U.S. Army Reserve Command, and home of the Third Army, Fort McPherson is a major national
command center; located near downtown Atlanta.
- Fort Stewart
A 280,000 acre facility used as a base for more than 10,000 active duty U.S. Army soldiers and
for tank, artillery, helicopter, and small arms gunnery training; located near Savannah.
- Hunter Army Airfield
Hunter Army Airfield is located about six miles from Fort Stewart and is part of the fort complex. HAA provides operational
support for Army units and also hosts the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Savannah.
- Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base
Home of the U.S. Navy's Atlantic fleet Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines; the base includes the largest covered dry dock in
the western hemisphere, and is located at St. Marys.
- Marine Corps Logistics Base - Albany
The base is the Marine Corp's east coast center for logistics, and for repair and storage of ground combat and ground combat
support equipment; located in Albany.
- Moody Air Force Base
Fort Moody hosts various U.S.A.F. helicopter-based rescue and contingency response groups; located near Valdosta.
- Navy Supply Corps School
All active duty naval supply officers are trained at this facility, located since 1954 in Athens.
- Robins Air Force Base
Home of the Warner Robins Air Logistic Center, Air Force Reserve headquarters, and other
commands; the base operates the largest runway in Georgia, and is located south of Macon.
