Description Gainesville, April 6, 1936. Citizens inspect the destruction and debris caused when a tornado struck the city. Over 100 people were killed, hundreds were injured, and the property damage was in the millions.
Additional Information 2003/07/10: The tornado that struck Gainesville on April 6, 1936 is considered one of the worst in terms of casualties and property damage.
