Field Notes Tate, 1930s. Cherokee Quarry. Operating view of the gadder which undercuts the block, enabling the removal of individual blocks from the quarry. Drills horizontal holes after the channel is cut onto which wedges are driven to loosen marble blocks of desirable length.
