The name of the ship is visible (directly above its lifeboats). Named for Georgia legislator, attorney general, governor, and U.S. senator, Joseph Meriwether Terrell (1861-1912), the Joseph M. Terrell was the twenty-seventh ship built at Brunswick by the J.A. Jones Construction Company. The ship's keel was laid on December 23, 1943, and it was launched on February 14, 1944. and delivered on February 26, 1944. "27-13"--photograph.
