Col. [Colonel] Wier [Wier] Boyd.
Dahlonega. Ga. [Georgia]
Dear Sir --

I am in receipt of your favor 30th ult. [ultimo] Was glad to hear from you; but sorry you are hard pushed financially; & would not have known of it, if you had not mentioned it.

If it is a possible thing I would like you to send me say $30. now; & I will then try & wait for balance until 1st July -- If you can manage it; you might register & send by mail: I will return a receipt & you can get [deleted text: note] it endorsed on note. --

We are still idle, but as the stock of cotton in this Market is some 11.000 bales we cannot close office & go off.

It is our intention to visit you in the summer both for pleasure of seeing you all & as a matter of economy. With best respects

Yours very truly
[Signed] Amory Dexter.
