Abstract: The photographs series of the J.A. Jones Construction Comapny collection consists of black-and-white prints and photocopies of the cargo ship building activities in Brunswick, Georgia of the J.A. Jones Construction Company from 1943 to 1945. The photographs document the construction process, ship launches, and the shipyard workers. Of particular note is a subseries of photographs devoted to the Christmas day of 1944 when the workers donated their labor to the war effort. Both Liberty ship and Knot ship construction is depicted.
