| Description: | Located at: 8815 East Oglethorpe Highway, Midway, Ga. Two-story wood frame church with two sets of windows, one above the other. The main body of the church is cypress. On the south side of the steep roof is the tall square belfry, surmounted by a railing of turned spindles and an open hexagonal cupola. The church community was organized in 1754 by descendants of an English colony which came first to Massachusettes in 1630. The church is built on the same spot as the church which was burned by the British in 1778. Slide annotated: "Liberty Church Midway Ga." Date of structure: 1792. |
