Description: Aerial view of the construction of the hull of the R. Ney McNeely at the J.A. Jones Construction Company shipyard in Brunswick, Georgia taken the day prior to its launch. Workers can be seen on the top of the ship and on the dock below. Elaborate scaffolding envelops the hull, and a mobile crane is visible in the photograph. The ship was the twenty-fifth built by J.A. Jones Construction Company in Brunswick, Georgia. Its keel was laid December 9, 1943. The ship was launched January 29, 1944 and delivered February 10, 1944.
