Description: This is a fragment of a letter whose author and recipient are both unknown. The author (believed to be William Holland Thomas) responds to a complaint made against him, regarding the misuse of Cherokee funds. The author explains that there were several Cherokee witnesses who would attest to the fact that proper payments have been received by them, and he specifically mentions that Jim Woodpecker and Dickageeskih, chiefs of Sand Town and Buffalo Town, respectively, would testify in his defense if called upon.
