Description: This document is a letter, dated April 19, 1790, from John B. Scott to Edward Telfair, Governor of Georgia (1786-1787, 1790-1793). Scott informs Telfair that the Virginia Yazoo Company, a land speculating firm, has decided to accept the terms of an act passed by the Georgia legislature for disposing of certain lands within the state. Scott indicates that the Company is taking the necessary measures regarding the Indians living in said lands and has already made a payment to the state treasury on the account.
