Description: This document is a letter from a group of citizens of Hancock County, Georgia to Georgia Governor Jared Irwin, dated July 28, 1808. The citizens request that the Governor issue a proclamation for the apprehension of Kendall Lewis. Lewis is accused of the murder of Edward Denton and is believed to have escaped to either the Mississippi Territory or the Creek Territory. Included is a physical description of Kendall, and a further request that this report be sent to Colonel Benjamin Hawkins, U.S. Agent to the Creeks.
