Description: This document is a letter from Daniel Sturges to an unnamed Governor of Georgia, probably John Clark (1819-1823), dated August 8, 1821 in which Sturges requests that his son, Benjamin, be appointed to prepare materials for the Executive. He mentions Benjamin's successful service to the state in laying out the districts of Early County despite his difficulty in securing an Indian guard. Such a guard was considered indispensable at the time.
