| Description: | This document is a letter written by William Holland Thomas, dated June 30, 1839, to Dillard Love. The letter informs Love that his claim valued at five hundred dollars has yet to be decided as the Commissioner of Indian Affairs has yet to forward the claim to the Secretary of War for approval. Thomas regrets that he will most likely not know of the final decision on the claim until the end of the following month since the Office of Indian Affairs is quite busy handling claims relative to treaties with the Cherokees, Creeks and many other tribes.
