Description: Letter, dated July 7, 1839, from William Holland Thomas to Hyatt, McBurney(?) and Co. concerning payment of Thomas' debts in the amount of 600 dollars with funds that he received from the U.S. through a successful claim. Thomas also makes mention of the fact that Eastern Cherokee claims under the Treaty of 1835 are currently under investigation by T. Hartley Crawford, Commissioner of Indian Affairs.
