King, dated July 30, 1839, from William Holland Thomas concerning his delay in Washington City while he awaits a decision from the Commissioner of Indian Affairs on the Eastern Cherokee claims. Thomas also relates a report that Cherokee leaders Major Ridge, John Ridge, Elias Boudinot and John Ross have been killed and another that only the Ridges have been killed. Document ID: wt038.
