| Description: | This is a deposition of Joseph Keener, prepared by Justice of the Peace John L. Dilliard and dated August 22, 1838. Keener testifies that William H. Thomas provided destitute Cherokees with clothing and other provisions and attests to the fairness of Thomas' dealings with both whites and Cherokees. Affidavits by James Graham and Robert Love, attesting to the good character of Keener, follow the deposition. Document ID: wt194.
