Johnny Isakson (b. 1944), from Cobb County, served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1977 to 1990. He was a Republican candidate for governor in 1990, and a Republican candidate for the Senate in 1996 in the GA state primary. He won a US Senate seat in 2004.
