Description: Biographical information, photographic image, abstract of oral history interview, and selected audio clips of Sarah Butler, Atlanta-born employee of the Georgia AFL-CIO for eighteen years and member of the Office and Professional Employees International Union, activist in the Women's Movement in Georgia, and supporter of civil rights. During her tenure with the AFL-CIO, she served as secretary of the Atlanta Labor Council, and after her retirement, she was inducted into the Labor Hall of Fame and was named Woman of the Year in the Labor Movement. The audio clips discuss sex discrimination at Sears Roebuck, the Labor Movement's support for the ERA, and her reaction to pro-life activities. She is a current resident of Gainesville, Georgia, where she engages in volunteer, AARP, and feminist work.
