Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP) deployed on the moon by the Apollo 12 astronauts (circa 1969). The central unit contained a data processor, receiver and transmitter for the five experiments which tested the moon's surface and atmosphere. The experiments were built by the Bendix Corporation's Aerospace Systems Division.
