|Title:||Reconstructed East Washington Street|
|Date:||1936 May 6|
|Description:||Reconstructed East Washington Street, May 6, 1936. Photograph showing the task of rebuilding Gainesville after the tornado of April 6, 1936. The project seemed a hopeless task. The city had been over a hundred years in the building and was reduced to shambles in less than five minutes. With coordinated efforts of the citizens, the clean-up and rebuilding was rapid. This photograph was taken exactly one month after the tornado.|
