|Description:||Charters-Smith home. Photograph of the Charters-Smith home. The house, located at 625 North Green Street, was built in 1906 by Col. W. A. Charters, an attorney. It was modeled after a house in Cartersville, Ga. Across the front are six fluted Corinthian columns, a wide semi-circular veranda, a beveled leaded glass transom and side lights, and a temple form portico. On the second floor, two porthole windows and lintel. House was torn down around 1969. |
