Description: Photograph of unidentified Confederate soldiers posing for a photograph in a camp during the time of the Battle of Chickamauga, which took place on September 18-20, 1863, during the Civil War. Around 34,000 soldiers lost their lives in a battle that was declared a decisive Confederate victory. Today the streets of Chickamauga are named for Confederate and Union generals.
