Description: Photograph showing Naomi Woodroof, an early pioneer in peanut research, using bedsprings to separate peanuts from the plant during harvest. A man sits across from her and assists her in this work. They sit on benches placed in a field.

This was one of the many innovations introduced by Woodroof. Woodroof worked at the Coastal Plain Experiment Station in Tifton from 1933 to 1967.
