| Title: | Anthony Grooms: experimentation in writing |
| Date: | 2002-2006 |
| Description: | Video of writer and arts administrator Anthony "Tony" M. Grooms speaking about experimentation in writing. He sits in before a white bookcase and a blue wall on which several paintings hang. He faces forward. Grooms begins by discussing writing as an experiment. He asserts that writing is "trial and error," and writers sometimes fail at the experiment. Grooms states that a writer should not feel shame if the experiment fails, as long as the writer tries again. He declares that writers often write poorly more often than they write well, but if they persevere, they do write well eventually. Grooms is well known in the Atlanta, Georgia area for his work in organizing arts events and for his support and encouragement of other writers. He is the author of a collection of poetry, Ice Poems (1988), a collection of stories, Trouble No More (1995), and a novel, Bombingham (2001). |
