The diary spans the dates January 1, 1842 to July 25, 1842 and includes a detailed log of Thomas's daily activities, including his travels, mercantile business arrangements, Cherokee affairs and social life. The diary also includes a letter written to Colonel John Brown on March 30, 1842. Another of Thomas's diaries, cm001, is included in the Southeastern Native American Documents database.
