[Letter] 1803 Apr. 6, Jackson County, [Georgia to] John Milledge, Governor of Georgia / Brigadier General David Dickson Dickson, David, d. 1836 Indians of North America--Government relations This document is a letter from Brigadier General David Dickson in Jackson County (Georgia) to Governor of Georgia John Milledge (1802-1806), dated April 6, 1803. Dickson informs Milledge that a number of families have recently settled on Indian land across from a regiment commanded by Colonel Hampton. Dickson, in anticipation of negative responses from the Indians, ordered Hampton to warn the settlers to remove and to burn their camps and cabins. Document ID: tcc384.
