Adams informs Early that he had ordered spies to be sent into the Oakfuskee settlements of the Creek Nation (on the Tallapoosa River) and though they did not penetrate as far as had been hoped, it is thought that they have learned valuable information. Adams had agreed to pay the spies forty dollars each for their services. Document ID: tcc422.
