Militia--Pay, allowances, etc. This is a letter dated July 24, 1836 from Thomas H. Key of Dooly County, Georgia to Governor William Schley (Governor of Georgia, 1835-1837). Thomas writes that he was a volunteer in the Seminole Campaign and that he loaned his wagon and team to haul supplies for the militia. He asks the governor how he might receive payment for the use of his property. Key sent a follow-up letter to Schley regarding the same issue one month later (see tcc591). Document ID: tcc585.
