<dc:description>Letter, dated July 24, 1839, from William Holland Thomas to Price, Newlin, and Co. in Philadelphia. Thomas asks the company's assistance in locating and reshipping an order of goods that has not arrived on schedule at the designated location. He also states that he is attending to Cherokee claims in Washington, D.C. Thomas hopes that the amount that he is requesting will be approved by the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, although there may be a delay in payment since Joel R. Poinsett, the Secretary of War, will probably be out of town by the time the report is ready for him.</dc:description>
