Hayes in Haywood County, North Carolina on November 27, 1838. King states that at the request of William H. Thomas, for whom he was a store clerk, he acquired and furnished destitute Cherokees with provisions and clothing in the summer of 1836. King also attests to the character of Thomas and says that all business was conducted in an honest manner. Also included in this document are sworn statements given by Robert Love and James Graham, attesting to the honest character of King. Document ID: wt178.
