The Telfair family of Savannah, Georgia was one of the most prominent in Georgia during much of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Alexander Telfair assumed control of his family&apos;s considerable plantation and business operations around 1818, following the deaths of his brothers, Josiah and Thomas Telfair.</dc:description>
